All .EXE, .DLL, .INI files must be present in the same directory for INSTALL.EXE to run. If an earlier release of DCM for OS/2 is installed, it must be detached from the system by running INSTALL.EXE, and selecting REMOVE. The REMOVE process detaches the SOM object from the system, and deletes any folder subdirectories present off the current installation directory. It does not delete any files in the current installation directory. The system must then be rebooted, and the old version of DCM should be deleted from the desktop and from its physical location. Run INSTALL.EXE from an OS/2 window to activate the application. Enter the physical path for installation, select whether or not to display processing messages, enter you licence number and company name if you have one, and press the install button. DCM will be installed into a DCM folder containing icons for : - Install/Remove/Update process. - Conversion Folders for Ami Pro titled "Convert to Ami Pro Default" DisplayWrite/RFT titled "Convert to DisplayWrite/RFT Default", and Lotus Notes titled "Convert to Lotus Notes CDF Default". - Conversion Folder templates. - DisplayWrite/RFT test documents - README.TXT. - INSTALL.TXT - NOTE-V13.TXT - ORDER.TXT - LICENCE.TXT The install process : - replaces Wp_Program with DCMPRG. - registers DCMFolder class. - creates sub-directories off the installation directory which contain the setup information for each Conversion Folder. - amends config.sys by adding the installation directory to the libpath, path and dpath, and adds a set dcm= entry. THE SYSTEM MUST BE RE-BOOTED TO COMPLETE THE INSTALLATION PROCESS. Removing Document Conversion Manager for OS/2 --------------------------------------------- Run INSTALL.EXE from the DCM folder and select REMOVE. This process : - re-registers Wp_Program. - de-registers the DCMFolder class. - deletes the Conversion Folder sub-directories. - deletes the Conversion Folder templates. - removes references to DCM from config.sys. THE SYSTEM MUST BE RE-BOOTED TO COMPLETE THE REMOVAL PROCESS. The DCM folder and contents can then be deleted from the desktop. END
